We offer this service to deaf students that do not use sign language and can lip read. Sometimes lecturers will turn and face away from the audience or may have beards or strong accents. A deaf student with a dedicated lip speaker present would be able to see clear mouth patterns as well as the rhythm and words in speech. Accurate and clear communication is highly beneficial to the student and supports the Widening Participation agenda . Our lipspeakers are all qualified to Level 3 and some of them can also use sign to support the lip patterns.
