Communication Support Workers

Communication Support Workers (CSWs) work in colleges, universities and sometimes schools, helping Deaf students to communicate with their teachers and other students.  They use a variety of support strategies and communication support methods to match the individuals’ needs and preferences. They ensure the student has a good understanding of assignments and can modify written language if needed. All of our CSWs are qualified to at least NVQ level 3 -6 BSL or are graduates from Deaf studies or similar.

The role of a CSW can vary depending on the needs of the individual they are supporting. This can include:

  • Helping individuals with understanding and producing written materials
  • Adapting learning materials to enable the individual to understand more clearly
  • Suggesting ways the environment can be improved to make it easier for the person they are supporting

If you would like more information on our CSWs or to book get in touch with the team today, give us a call on 01763 209001 or send us an email and one of the team will be more than happy to help.
