Meet Kelly, Clarion UK’s Onboarding and Support Compliance Manager. With a wealth of experience and a passion for supporting the Deaf community, Kelly ensures supplier partnerships begin with clarity and integrity. In this feature, she shares a behind-the-scenes look at her daily work, career milestones, and what drives her commitment to excellence.

What is your role, and what does a typical day look like for you?

I am the Onboarding and Supplier Compliance Manager, and I have been working at Clarion UK since January 2019. My daily tasks are split between the two sides of my role, ensuring our freelancer register remains compliant, in line with our supplier contracts, via daily data checks and updates of enhanced DBS certificates and professional memberships, including deactivations of profiles that no longer remain compliant. I also carry out all processes required of the onboarding to welcome new suppliers to our register.

What’s one thing you wish more clients understood about our work?

I’d love for clients to know that our compliance processes are in place to protect everyone involved, clients, suppliers and the people we support. Keeping supplier records up to date isn’t just best practice, it’s a requirement tied to our contracts and industry standards. When we deactivate a profile, it’s never a personal decision it’s about ensuring we continue to deliver safe, high-quality services. Our goal is always to work collaboratively and supportively, while meeting the standards expected of us.

What’s one accomplishment or moment in your role that you’re particularly proud of?

I’m especially proud of completing a project that ensured all active profiles met our minimum compliance standards. A highlight was bringing our MoJ register in line with the higher BPSS check requirements, which led to a very positive response during a recent MoJ audit. It was a great example of how detailed, behind-the-scenes work can have a big impact.

What’s your favourite part of working directly with clients/LSPs?

Ensuring Clarion UK’s continued ability to provide essential services to our clients.

What’s your go-to productivity hack?

My favourite thing to do to improve my focus/productivity is to pop on some lively, upbeat music.

If you could swap jobs with someone for a day, who would it be and why?

I think it would have to be Suzi Perry (MotoGP presenter), so that I could travel the world with the MotoGP teams and see all of the races in person.

What’s one item you couldn’t live without at your desk?

A notepad! I am always jotting down ideas, messages, and jobs.

What do you love most about working at Clarion UK?

Working for a company that has such a good reputation for providing a high level of service to the Deaf community, and students in Further Education/Higher Education.

What’s a hidden talent or hobby of yours?

I’m a keen baker and gardener; My favourite bake is a coffee and walnut cake, although the family don’t like this, so brownies are the staple now, and my favourite plant is my Hydrangea.
