Established in 2002, Clarion UK is now the UK’s leading supplier of Language Support Professionals to the Deaf community. We work with Hospitals, Courts, Universities, Schools, the Police and large corporate organisations to ensure that Deaf people have access to a first-class interpreting service.
This role will work across various sectors of our company – Health, Employment, and Recruitment – as detailed below.
- Health: Coordinating BSL interpreters and language support for Deaf patients at major teaching hospitals, surgeries and other health care settings.
- Employment: Coordinating employability and language specialists who help Deaf and hard of hearing jobseekers get back into work.
- Recruitment: Onboarding our freelance language and learning support workers and ensuring continued compliance of all paperwork.
You will initially spend time working closely with a member of staff from each sector, learning their role, in order to be able to flexibly support or cover their roles during absence, holidays, or busy periods. In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities of these teams, there are annual or ad-hoc tasks and projects which you may be asked to contribute to.
Working as part of small and experienced teams, you will need to be a confident communicator, have an eye for detail, be highly computer-literate, organised, approachable and enjoy learning new skills.
Clarion Interpreting is based in Thriplow which is 8 miles south of Cambridge. We are currently working partly from the office and partly from home, to ensure safety of staff during Coronavirus. After sufficient training, this role can be worked remotely or partly in the office and home.
Full-time post. Salary £18-22k depending on experience. We would also consider applicants who want to work slightly reduced hours.
